In the listed building, (villa) the a la carte restaurant and the lounge are located on the ground floor. The lounge: an attractively decorated lounge with dinnerware and copper from the early nineteenth centuries. Comfortable seats to enjoy your aperitif, or to read a book in a relaxing atmosphere.
The restaurant is divided into three open rooms and has forty-four comfortable seats. The menu is offering a wide choice of seasonal and local products. The classical French way of cooking is used in the kitchen, but with a modern touch. Chef Wilco Aardema has a special passion for local products.
Suppliers are from the direct surroundings: Ida Fishservice, Vermaning meat, Maatman poultry, Natural garden ‘t Hummelhus, Cheese farm de Stelp, and beekeeper de Jong from Oldeberkoop. A lot of these products are possible to buy on every first Saturday of the month in the centre of Oldeberkoop on the Frisian Local market (From April to October on the first Saturday of the month).
For groups we like to make a special menu measuring your wishes, and of course our kitchen brigade can help with your diets and/or allergies.
Furthermore it is also possible to have diner outside. On the terrace, which is included in the Terrace Top 100 of Horeca Netherlands. Lunia features a terrace in the garden on the front with several seats and sun or shadow spots. The fireplace (eventual in combination with our warm fleece-blankets) in the front yard offers atmosphere and warmth. In 2012 there has been constructed a second terrace in the garden. This terrace is also very suitable for having a get together in private.
Restaurant Lunia has been added to the red Michelin book with a good mention for price/quality.
